We are extremely pleased to announce excellent progress in H.E. the 7th Kyabje Yongzin Ling Rinpoche’s recovery from a serious car accident in November 2012.
On the advice of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Rinpoche has been receiving medical care in the United States since April 2014. Rinpoche’s doctors at the renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, USA, examined the x-rays from Rinpoche’s surgeries in India and stated that the medical care which Rinpoche had received in India was very good and additional surgery in the USA was not required.
The Mayo doctors also noted significant improvement in the healing of Rinpoche’s right leg during the US visit. Rinpoche is now able to walk without the use of crutches or a cane, and the doctors expect Rinpoche to be fully recovered with only a few more months of physical therapy.
Rinpoche has recently returned to India, and will be returning to his residence in Drepung Monastery later this summer.
